The 2025 Bond of the 1980s 1oz Silver Coin is the third release in The Royal Mint’s bullion series celebrating the world’s most iconic secret agent — the Six Decades of 007 collection.
Created by Ian Fleming in 1953, James Bond became a British cultural legend when he first appeared on screen in 1962. Over the decades, the character has evolved through the performances of different actors, each bringing their own charisma and style to MI6’s most famous operative.
This edition pays tribute to the Bond films of the 1980s — a decade that saw the suave sophistication of Roger Moore in classics like Octopussy and A View to a Kill give way to the sharper, more intense portrayal by Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill. Featured on the coin is the Bede BD-5J “Acrostar” microjet, the unforgettable aircraft that soars through a hangar in the dramatic opening sequence of Octopussy.
Each coin contains one troy ounce of 999 fine silver, struck to The Royal Mint’s exacting bullion standards. With a £2 face value, it is Capital Gains Tax–exempt for UK investors — an attractive benefit for collectors and stackers alike. This 2025 silver bullion coin also carries a limited mintage of just 100,000, adding to its desirability and long-term appeal.
